What's this about?
Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District (COCSD) is asking voters to approve a $30 million capital bond (Prop 409). If approved, it will address aging infrastructure, safety enhancements, and long-term school renewal needs across the district.
District officials point to critical infrastructure systems that have hit the end of their operational lifespans:
- System Failures: COCSD has faced costly emergency repairs, including septic system failures, major water line breaks, and well-related issues.
- Safety & Security: Funds will update physical safety and security measures across local K-8 campuses.
